Vice President - Technical
Responsibilities:
- Working in a multi-regional team of aircraft and engine leasing technical professionals to provide the technical oversight of CALC’s owned and managed aircraft assets that are on lease globally but outside China;
- Working in conjunction with the Chief Technical Officer to ensure full coordination across the global Technical team and consistent application of Technical processes and procedures across CALC’s entire portfolio.
- Coordinating and facilitating Technical support for CALC’s Marketing, Legal and Transaction teams during new and used aircraft marketing campaigns and associated LOI and lease negotiations;
- Coordinating and overseeing the professional and timely execution of aircraft transfer projects particularly on those used aircraft targeted for re-lease, purchase, sale and end of life disassembly.
- Exercising efficient and effective commercial management of aircraft transfer projects and ensuring successful budgeting, cost control and execution.
- Ensuring the appropriate application and management of aircraft and engine maintenance reserves for the CALC owned and managed fleet.
- Drafting, updating and implementation of departmental policies and procedures as required;
- Interpreting technical information relating to CALC aircraft and applying such information in ensuring asset value retention and optimum asset values relating to the development of asset purchase and sale opportunities;
- Supporting the negotiation of aircraft purchase/sale agreements and OEM purchase agreements;
- Supporting the AC&D team with development of technical specifications for new order aircraft, purchase agreement negotiations and coordination of new aircraft deliveries where required;
- Supporting the Management of CALC’s aircraft audit/inspection programme, planned and unplanned;
- Administering and processing lessee maintenance reserve claims in such a way that CALC’s interests are fully protected;
- Undertaking and overseeing the negotiation of General Terms Agreements with maintenance providers and other service providers as required;
- Maintaining effective and professional relationships with technical counterparts at OEMs, service providers and other leasing companies;
- Performing ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Company.
- The ability to travel worldwide often at short notice.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in an appropriate technical role in an aircraft leasing company and/or comparable airline position in the delivery and/or transition of commercial aircraft.
- Ability to support senior management in the implementation of corporate strategy and achievement of business goals.
- Proven ability to manage transactions within a global aircraft leasing technical team.
- Proven record in negotiating the technical aspects of LOIs and lease agreements with airlines globally.
- Proven history of successful project management of used aircraft deliveries/redeliveries. Experience of managing projects in the Americas, EMEA, and South East Asia will be considered advantageous.
- Firm knowledge of the aviation sector, from leasing, MRO or airline environment.
- Excellent knowledge of aviation regulations, both EASA and FAA.
- Able to work under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficient in English language skills, spoken and written.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe PDF.
