VP – Technical / Engineering

Responsibilities:
  1. Development and overall management of CALC’s Engineering capability to a standard suitable to support CALC’s leased aircraft portfolio.
  2. Providing the highest standard of support to the CALC Technical Asset Management team in providing engineering and modification solutions for CALCs owned and managed aircraft.
  3. Developing and implementing policies and procedures relating to the CALC Engineering function.
  4. Building and maintaining a comprehensive network within external Engineering companies, material suppliers and industry peers.
  5. Participating as a team member in technical projects and advising on the development of the most efficient, effective and economic plans for the implementation of aircraft modifications.
  6. Maintaining a strong understanding of global regulatory requirement relating to aircraft modifications and liaising with aviation authority and OEM engineering counterparts as required in order to ensure compliance with the requirements of the various aviation authorities.
  7. Soliciting quotes from third party engineering service providers and providing expert input on budgets, timescales and specifications for the implementation of aircraft modifications.
  8. Assisting with the sourcing of appropriate materials to support the timely execution of modification projects.
  9. Supporting CALC’s Marketing, Legal and Transaction teams during LOI and lease negotiations for new and used aircraft marketing campaigns.
  10. Negotiating and managing the purchase of aircraft components, modification kits, etc. to support aircraft transfer projects.
  11. Monitoring technical information updates and application of same in order to ensure maintenance of the Technical knowledge base and support maintenance of portfolio asset values.
  12. Negotiation of general terms agreements and service contracts with third party engineering service providers.
  13. Supporting the CLC Aircraft Configuration & Delivery team where required.
  14. Support the group’s Asset Management function in ensuring up to date and accurate data and records are maintained on the CALC system databases;
  15. Performing ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Company.
Requirements:
  1. 10 years in an engineering role with an airline, aircraft lessor, Part 21 design organisation or MRO, or a combination of the foregoing.
  2. Proven experience in developing and managing aircraft modification packages such as interior cabin layout changes, external paint livery schemes and avionic/electrical system reconfigurations.
  3. Proven experience in managing and meeting PART 21 requirements of the various regulatory authorities.
  4. Negotiating the technical modification aspects of LOIs and lease agreements with airlines.
  5. Proven history of successful project management of used aircraft deliveries/redeliveries.
  6. Firm knowledge of the aviation sector, from leasing, MRO or airline perspective.
  7. Excellent knowledge of aviation regulations, including EASA, FAA and CAAC.
  8. Able to work under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
  9. Proficient in English language skills, spoken and written.
  10. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe PDF.
